ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan Friday said the PTI government had taken specific initiatives to reduce expenditures of public sector departments.
Talking to a private news channel, he said the PTI government soon after taking over responsibilities, took different initiatives for ensuring austerity in all the institutions. He said previous governments of Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim League-N could not curtail expenditures due to which, the country was now facing economic crunch.
To a question about rising dollar, inflation, and export matters, he said the concerned quarters and stakeholders were working to find permanent solution of the issues. “We should focus on finding the solution rather creating chaos,” he added. About government’s priorities, he said that all out efforts were being made for expanding tax network, exports, and business activity.
Replying to a question by president of all Pakistan trader association during a programme, he said that Chairman Federal Board of revenue (FBR), had been appointed to streamline the system. He said the President of trader unions should go forward with suggestions for necessary reforms. He said improving the business, exports and textile sectors were the priorities of the current government.— Staff Reporter
