There are 227136 schools in Pakistan in which 68848 are private. Overall 30% private and 70% government schools exist. 38% of children enrolled in private schools and 62% attend government schools. The ratio of government schools is high as compared to the private. But unfortunately there is a hell of a difference in the education standards. Private schools focus on the children’s education and activities as well. “Education is not the learning of facts but the training of the mind to think”, (Albert Einstein ) . On the other hand government schools do not taking an interest in the activities regarding the student’s personal interest. For example, every student can has its own interest in the relevant field of designing, painting, writing, coloring and sketching etc. Private schools give them space for their creativity. There is no boundary set for them. This builts in them confidence and well approach toward success. Private schools try to update their course from time to time. But unfortunately government schools not pay heed on this main issue which is directly linked to the student’s future. If the latest research included in the course then there will be brighter chances of success for the students. This will also be good for our country in progress. The other major issue in the government schools is that there is no check and balance on the staff. According to Alif Aliaan there are 1415113 teachers in Pakistan in which 696405 are private school teachers. It means 49% of teachers work in private schools and 51% of teachers work in government schools. There is a minor difference of teachers in both schools. What is the reason behind this? The reason is the systematic way of private schools running. Private schools have proper set up rules and regulations for teachers as well as for students, which is appealing to both teachers and students. This is a fact that private schools have a higher number of teachers but they are not necessarily better qualified or experienced than government school teachers. The other pressure which private schools put on the parents is the heavy fees. Parents are oppressed to pay it very abstrusely just to secure their child’s future. It is the best part of the government schools strategy to educate students at very low fees. In this way government schools provide an opportunity for those who can’t afford heavy fees. Scholarships also provided in this regard. In opposition survey results show that 69% of Pakistani parents would prefer to send their children to a private school. The reason is that learning outcomes are better among students in private schools. Private schools have better facilities and parents perceive English medium schools better. There doesn’t seem to be a large difference between public and private schools when it comes to basic facilities. However, unlike government schools playgrounds are not available in most private schools. In conclusion, there is need of the hour for both institutions to enhance their merits and overcome their demerits, so that a balanced education system incite in our society. This will lead as a helping hand in the progress of our country.
