Wherever law ends, tyranny begins and when tyranny becomes a law, rebellion becomes duty. A juvenile delinquent, if gone too far along into his felons without being held accountable will take someone’s head off one day, and what of a state that is keeping on with its non-juvenile criminal activities against people, it is holding up against their will; Jammu&Kashmir? (90% Kashmiris living in IOJK want independence from India according to a survey). The acute consequences of unaccountability are scathing, as an unfortunate morning of July 1, 2020 awaited an elderly man Khan, travelling with this grandson, Farooq Khan being shot dead in front of the minor for no apparent reason by the Indian military and the tyranny did not stop there but the 3 year old grandson was made to sit on the bullet-ridden lifeless body of his grandfather and was been photographed, the picture which had made rounds around the globe on every electronic/ social media platforms, invoking all kinds of response against Indian tyranny.
On extensive perusal of the situation, it reveals numerous aspects being unfolded. An act of having the 3-year-old grandson being put on the dead body of his grandfather, is a far-gone call that has been made to make a point, an extreme example of inhumanity, an incident that has occurred two days apart from a terrorist attack on Pakistan, Karachi Stock Exchange which despite of being tackled by Pakistan Rapid Response Forces efficiently, also was to make a point e.g., simply to cripple the hard-earned peace in the South Asian region.
The image shocked the world, had everyone reacting in different ways. Responding to the incident, Amnesty India said that officials that the disclosure of minor’s identity is simply law being contravened
“It is also a breach of the ‘best interests of the child’ principle as required to be the basis of any action by authorities under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, to which India is a state party.”
Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the image of the three-year-old sitting on his grandfather’s “lifeless, bullet-ridden body” exposed the real face of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “fascist India”.
Pakistan’s Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has also condemned the killing, also tweeting “Widespread human rights abuses by fascist Modi govt constitute an acid test for the international community.”
Kashmir, a region held in parts by India and Pakistan, but claimed by both in full. According to various inquisitors and human rights organizations around the world, hundreds and thousands of people have been swallowed up in this big black hole of conflicts since 1989.
The Government of India, on Aug 5, 2019 under Modi regime revoked article 370 and other related amenities from its Constitution, obliterating Muslims from the Muslim-majority region of the state, it was also split into two federally administered territories.
Synchronously, India put a strict staggering lockdown on Kashmir allegedly, impeding thousands of people, restraining mobility and enforcing a communications blackout. A 10-month long inhumane still-going lockdown, isn’t merely to keep Kashmiris from mere movements but to keep people from actually protesting and voicing the barbaric gratuitous acts done on the people residing the region. The Hindu fascist Indian Modi regime is making the most use of the diverted world attention amidst COVID-19 pandemic to accelerate, its Hindutva Supremacist agenda. The continuous attempts to illicitly alter the demographic of IOJK in violation of international laws and treaties as well as the 4th Geneva Convention has been sped up and never been closer to its structural reality.
A menace despot state, always with a smooth way out, notwithstanding all its illegitimate exercises turns nefarious, having extreme measures taken at the hand of the ruler of the state against its own people, certainly is at no position to hold anyone accountable for training the oppressed to self-defense, as India continuously had been and still blame Islamabad of, which Pakistan constantly denies. In-short, Modi regime wants Kashmiris to have their basic right to amicably exist in their own native land hindered, and still not to protest but give-in instead, otherwise it’s called terrorism. India’s brazen shamelessness in this matter is applaudable.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan, on Tuesday said that granting of domicile certificates to thousands of Indian nationals in the Jammu and Kashmir region will not only imperil the peace and security between the two countries but entire South Asian region will face the consequences of Indian felonious attempts at halting the basic right for Kashmiris to amicably exist as the rightful natives of the region.
“First, India’s attempt at illegal annexation of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and now its attempts to alter IOJK’s [Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir] demographic structure including] by issuance of domicile certificates to 25,000 Indian nationals are all illegal, in violation of UNSC resolutions, and international law, including [the] 4th Geneva Convention,” Imran Khan said in a series of tweets.
He was referring to New Delhi’s excoriating of the disputed region’s decades-long special status in August last year, and the controversial Kashmir citizenship law.
International community yet again, is being urged to realize the gravity of the situation in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and forced for all necessary measures to be taken and ensured and India to be taken under absolute pressure to halt all inhumane activities in the disputed Himalayan Territory and be held accountable for all that has been done and hand tied for all future heinous plans. The history of IOJK unfortunately had always been “a tale of lies and deceits” on part of Indian rulers, who have exploited all available means to pursue their unlawful occupation of the state.
