Pakistan Embassy at Ankara organized an event to commemorate the Defence Day of Pakistan with the National spirit. Only the officials of Pakistan Embassy, their families and Turkish media representatives attended the event and special measures were adopted Due to spread of COVID-19 again.
His Excellency, Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi, The Ambassador of Pakistan in Turkey, highlighted the significance of the Defence Day that the September 6th, 1965 how important and holds a significant place in the history of Pakistan. He paid tribute and acknowledge the meritorious professional and devoted services of our valiant Armed Forces and the contribution of entire nation stood united to thwart the nefarious design of the adversary, who had dared cast an evil eye on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our beloved homeland Pakistan. It is an occurrence that reminds us of the innumerable sacrifices rendered by personnel of the Armed forces as the Nation showed a unique spirit of unity and strength. The war started when the Indian forces crossed over Pakistan’s International Border. Enemies launched attack from all the sides and try to target Pakistani forces but failed badly to achieve their impure and polluted desires. “Pakistan Army consists not of disorganized rabble but of professional soldiers” The same was also true for Pakistan Air Force Pakistan Navy which stood ground and fought off the enemy valiantly. Brave officers, Jawans, Airmen and Sailors spearheaded a counter assault and prevented the enemy gaining ground. During the war 1617 square miles of territory was occupied by Pakistan as compared to 446 square of miles of Pakistan’s open and undefended, also the Pakistan Army captured 20 Indian officers and 569 soldiers etc. “We pay homage to our Shuhada and Ghazis who stood steadfast in the face of heavy odds to defeat an adversary which had numerical and technological advantage,” said
by Ambassador. It’s a day which marks the resolute and determination of the Armed Forces and people of our country to ensure and impregnable defence and a strong and prosperous Pakistan said by Qazi. Ambassador also underlined the importance of the spirit of 1965, which was the need of hour to meet all challenges faced by Pakistan.
Acting Defence Attaché, Capt (PN) Mazhar Bashir, read out messages of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, who paid glowing tributes to Pakistan Armed Forces and the resilient Pakistani nation for their immense sacrifices. While referring to the growing Indian atrocities in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Pakistani leadership in their messages reaffirmed the pledge to continue to support the people of IIOJK in their struggle till the realization of their right to self-determination in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions.
Head of Chancery, Ifra Tariq said on the occasion that the Defense and Martyr’s day is commemorated every year on Sep 6th to honour the previous lives laid down by our Armed Forces in order to protect the sovereignty of our loving homeland.
